Pokémon Gold is a role-playing video game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Color. It was released in Japan in 1999 and later in North America and Europe in 2000. Pokémon Gold is part of the second generation of Pokémon games and is set in the Johto region, which features new Pokémon, characters, and gameplay mechanics.
In Pokémon Gold, players take on the role of a young trainer who must capture, train, and battle Pokémon in order to become the champion of the Johto region. The game features a number of new Pokémon, including Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile, as well as several new legendary Pokémon, such as Ho-Oh and Lugia.
Pokemon Gold Starters
In Pokemon Gold, players are able to choose from three different starter Pokemon to begin their journey: Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile.
- Chikorita is a grass-type Pokemon that resembles a small dinosaur with a leafy head. It has the ability to use various grass-type moves such as Razor Leaf and Vine Whip.
- Cyndaquil is a fire-type Pokemon that resembles a small, blue creature with flames on its back. It has the ability to use various fire-type moves such as Flamethrower and Ember.
- Totodile is a water-type Pokemon that resembles a small, blue crocodile. It has the ability to use various water-type moves such as Water Gun and Surf.
